I'm going to japan from march 9 until april 6, and I want to climb Mt Fuji, from the bottom til the top. How much snow should I expect? How cold is it going to be? My lonely planet says its doable, but thats pretty much it.

I'm looking to fly from Lima to Cusco round trip in about a month-Jan 3 to Jan 8. Given the amount of flights, it seems crazy that it would cost $300 (on kayak.com), but that's all I could find.

I have a semi-unexpected week's vacation next week, and a yen to do some leisurely road-tripping. I have no shopping to do, no planned events to attend, no one I owe a visit, and in general nothing to recommend any city within 500-ish miles of Oklahoma City over any other. So... what events of unusual interest are happening December 8th-15th in the Central U.S.? Santa Fe or St. Louis; Denver or Memphis; Kansas City or Austin or any other metropolis within a day's drive of Oklahoma - anything going down in your burg that week that would justify a road trip?

Went to New York for one day. Took the train because I'm not too smart. I stayed at a Hostelling International hostel. I ate at The Spotted Pig and had ramen at Setagaya.

Can you suggest some romantic things to do on a first date in Vienna?
I've got a guide of Vienna and studied previous Vienna questions here.
Great tips but visiting the Flaktürme f.i. is probably not the most romantic thing....
Btw there's a good chance that it will be raining.

I'll be living/working in Reno for several weeks to a few months. Would appreciate suggestions for art, culture & nature. Unique & bizarre attractions would be a plus. Also, best vegetarian restaurants, or unique restaurants where a vegetarian won't starve?
Obviously, I wouldn't be asking this if I were into gambling or searching for vanished gazillionaires.

I'm going to Amsterdam and Rotterdam for a couple of days on business. Should I bring cash and exchange for Euros, or should I use my Visa debit card for stuff. I went to France in 2001 and my card worked on French ATMs; will it work in Holland?

I'm looking to get away for 3-4 days (and give my partner some alone time as well). My criteria are: relatively cheap, minimum heat/humidity, medium/big city with bookstores, cafes, art, and nightlife. I have to travel by train/plane - no car. Not interested in The Great Outdoors. I have a passport and I speak okay French.

Hi, Spending a week around Lake Como with my wife and 15 month old daughter in the middle / end of August. We've got a villa booked in Argegno,so will be using that as our base. Any tips on what to see / do around the area? We've got a hire car, so getting around isn't going to be a problem.

36 Hours in Yosemite: I'll be attending a conference in San Francisco and will have most of the weekend to kill. We've already booked a hotel room just outside Yosemite National Park. I plan on seeing the Giant Sequoias, and generally just driving around. There's so much to see there that only 36 hours seems like a travesty. Alas. What are some must see things there that I can enjoy at a relatively relaxed pace in my short time there?

Last weekend, we headed out from Darwin to
Kakadu National Park for the weekend.
Kakadu is Australia's largest national park, and is
World Heritage Listed for both environmental and cultural significance. You could easily spend a week there if you take advantage of all the walking trails and spots of beauty, or much longer if you have an off-road vehicle to explore the more distant parts. We decided to see what we could see in our Hyundai in just three days.

On Sunday, we went to what is probably the most beautiful 'rocky' beach on the South Wales coast: Monknash. It's almost completely comprised of round and oval gray stones (there are small areas of sand at low tide) and hemmed in by tall cliffs with beautiful exposed layers of rock. The way the waves pound the stony outcropping of rock is something to see. The walk through the forest is great, too: there's a ruined building of some sort and nice little brook.
Sadly, this beach is best appreciated by very spry young people / adults. The approach has two large stone stiles to get over, so it is not suitable for prams, wheelchairs, or anyone who would have a problem physically climbing over them. The beach itself has no sand at all, and you must walk carefully. Avoid the mossy bits, as they are very slippery. Not suitable for surfing, IMO, unless you are very, very good.
Warning. If you do fish around the headland, keep an eye on the tide!

I went to Sofia as a side trip when I was living in Cluj-Napoca Romania in 1994. It was a whole different sort of Eastern Europe than I was used to. I went to a student conference and found a bowling alley. This is from an email I sent home after the trip.

I can go on a two-to-four day trip this August, traveling by myself. I'm leaving from Seattle. I want to: walk a lot, see interesting things, eat good food, sleep in a clean and pleasant hotel (not a B&B), walk more, and generally enjoy a break from my lovely-but-exhausting small children.
I have a passport, but don't want to spend a lot of time in the airport for such a short vacation.
I don't want to go to Portland or San Francisco, as much as I like them both, because I've been there so often. I want to feel like I've been somewhere new and seen new things.
Don't worry too much about budgets -- help me brainstorm, and I'll figure out what's realistic. (Private jets are not possible. Plane or ferry tickets are.)
