Please help with suitable nightlife (good bars) in Monterrey, Mexico. From the U.S. and looking for something cool/funky. No dance clubs please. Will be here for three nights and located downtown. Willing to taxi anywhere. Local flavor a plus. Thanks.

I'm visiting Morelia, Mexico this week, arriving just in time to miss the Virgin de Guadalupe fiesta, and staying about a week. Suggestions?

Hubby and I are planning a last minute trip to Mexico. We're going to fly into Cancun and don't plan on renting a car since we're on a tight budget. We'd like to find a beach campground that's along the Caribbean Sea where we can stay away from crowds and just relax and maybe even do some shore fishing. Would be great it's within walking distance to a small local restaurant of sorts or even if it's just stalls. Does one exist? For the life of me, I have not been able to find any budget beach camping information online. I guess what makes it more difficult is that we'd like to be able to get there by bus and/or colectivo, if possible and it will be during the holidays! I knew I should have researched before booking but we got a good price and well...it will be winter and we could use the sun! Anyone BTDT? :)
p.s. I'm totally open to suggestions! TIA!!!

I'm going to drive down to Tijuana from Los Angeles on Labor day. If I were on my own, I probably would not have chosen to go to Tijuana. If I were by myself I probably would not have chosen to drive on Labor day and once I arrived in Tijuana I might have dipped my toes into the town's seedier side.

Headed to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen April 1-10. Semi winging it on accommodations so very open to anyone's suggestions for reasonable (maybe even romantic) places to stay (staying at CabanaCopal for a couple nights). Been there a few times and enjoy exploring. Anyone have any favorite spots, places to eat, cenote or snorkel spot they want to share? Good cheap massage? Fav local spot on 20th?
AND how about a great vacation book - my last beach trip I read "The Great Influenza" and I'm looking for something a little more fun!
Thanks (planning and thinking about trips are ALMOST as much fun as going on them...)

Heading to Guadalajara and Manzanillo in early March for 10 days and wonder about tips for must-see things to do, see, restaurant recommendations and accomodations as well. ( no all-inclusives please)

Would like to ask for first-hand experience with hotels in Oaxaca (City). In city, near Zocalo, quiet, pretty, clean, etc. The Camino Real is around $200 a night (with taxes). Is it worth it? Most of the really cool b&b's are booked solid. The other two choices appear to be Hostal de la Noria and ...the Holiday Inn (which surprisingly has some good reviews but the photos look like every other Holiday Inn in the world) We'll be there late Jan.-earlly Feb.

I'm spending a little time in June in Troncones, Mexico, and I'm looking for advice on where to stay. I really just need place to sleep at night and keep my luggage, nothing fancy; I'd like a private room, though, not a hostel or other group arrangement. Anyone been there and have some advice or suggestions?
